My research broadly examines the international dimensions of civil war, emphasizing how external factors influence internal conflict dynamics. My current book project, The Ties that Spoil: Explaining the Nexus Between Rival Sponsorship and Insurgent Fragmentation, investigates how support from rival states contributes to insurgent fragmentation during peace negotiations. Utilizing a mixed-method approach that combines quantitative analysis with interviews and archival research, I analyze the destabilizing effects of foreign sponsorship on peace processes.

My future project will focus on the relationships between states and insurgent groups, focusing on how transnational alliances shape both conflict dynamics and post-conflict outcomes.
